Welcome to our FAQs page, where we answer all your questions about our fishing trips. Find out about our boat capacity, mate availability, fish handling, payment methods, and more. We also provide information on season start and end dates, tipping, deposits, and cancellations. If you have other questions we haven’t covered in our FAQs, please contact us. Read on for all the details.
How many people can come on the trip?
– We limit the number of people fishing to four (4) so you’re comfortable, giving everyone more time to fish. Coast Guard regulations limit the number of people on board to six (6) plus the captain and crew. Under certain circumstances, we will accommodate up to five (5) people.
Is the price the same if some people don’t fish?
– Yes, you are hiring the boat for the time on the water. It doesn’t matter if only one person or everyone in your group fishes.
Does the trip include a mate?
– Some trips don’t require a mate; in this case, the captain will act as your mate. However, most trips will include an experienced mate on board.
Who keeps the fish?
– You do, that is, if you choose to. You are allowed to keep up to the legal limit of everything that you catch. We do recommend that you exercise common sense and only keep what you can eat to save some fish for next time.
Do you clean and fillet my fish?
– Yes, we will clean, fillet, and bag your fish for you at the end of the trip. This is part of the mate’s job.
Is the trip kid-friendly?
– Yes, our fishing trips are a fantastic experience for kids! We aim to provide a memorable and safe adventure. We kindly ask that parents or guardians remain attentive to their children’s safety and supervision throughout the trip.
Is the boat handicapped accessible?
– No. There is a ramp down to the boat dock, but no entrance door to access the boat. Additionally, the porta-potty on the boat is not handicapped accessible.
What payment methods do you accept?
– We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Venmo, and Cash. Sorry, but no personal checks. Payment is expected in full at the end of your trip. If you prefer, you can also pay in full before your trip through FishingBooker.
Should we tip the mate?
– Traditionally, yes. The mate’s tip should range between 15% to 20% of the trip. The mate works hard. They will make sure you have a great time on the water.
Is the deposit refundable if I have to cancel?
– Yes, as long as you cancel at least 72 hours in advance. We reserve the right to keep your deposit if you cancel your trip after the 3-day window expires or apply it towards another trip at a mutually agreeable time and date.
What if the Captain cancels the trip? Do I get a refund?
– Yes. We will do our best to find another day and time that will suit your needs, but if that isn’t possible, you’ll receive a full refund.
Why would the Captain cancel a trip?
– The Captain may choose the cancel a trip if there are hazardous weather conditions, unsafe or rough sea conditions, or for mechanical issues with the boat. Your safety is always our top priority.
